The full Skardu honeymoon by road — a private journey up the legendary Karakoram Highway from Islamabad or Lahore. The drive itself is half the romance: the Indus gorge, the junction of three great mountain ranges, and a night at Chilas on the way up.
Once in Skardu you'll explore the Kachura lakes, the Katpana cold desert, the Manthoka waterfall, Shigar valley and the meadows of Basho — all with your own private car, driver and guide, handpicked stays and a relaxed, just-for-two pace.
Depart for Chilas with short stops along the way — breakfast at Besham, Summer Nala, the Diamer-Basha Dam site and mountain streams. Arrive at Chilas, check in, dinner and overnight. (If Babusar is closed, we travel via the Karakoram Highway.)
After a 7:00 AM breakfast, drive to Skardu via the junction point of the three mighty ranges. Visit Shangrila and the Lower & Upper Kachura lakes with boating at Upper Kachura, then the Katpana cold desert. Overnight in Skardu.
After breakfast, visit the Manthoka Waterfall with free time, then depart for Shigar valley and the famous Sarfaranga Cold Desert. Explore the surroundings and drive back to Skardu for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, stop at the Chocolate Rocks, then transfer to 4x4 jeeps for Basho Meadows — explore the meadows and the Basho Suspension Bridge. Back to Skardu for dinner and the night.
After breakfast, begin the drive down with stops at Gini (fuel), Summer Nala and the Basha Dam site, taking in the Karakoram Highway. Overnight at Besham.
Early breakfast and the final drive home with short stops, including Mansehra. Arrival in Islamabad / Lahore — end of journey.
