Overview
A five-day journey deep into the cedar forests and glacial rivers of Kumrat Valley — the north at its greenest — that then climbs into high alpine country. After exploring Kumrat's waterfalls, the ice-cold Kala Chashma spring and the wide Do Janga meadows, the trip heads up to the meadows of Jahaz Banda and on to the turquoise Katora Lake.
The first half is easy sightseeing by jeep and short walks; the second half involves two scenic hikes of around three hours each (Jahaz Banda and Katora Lake). Transport, hotels and meals are all handled — you just bring good shoes and a sense of adventure.
