Overview

The greatest trek in Pakistan, and one of the finest on earth. Follow the mighty Baltoro glacier to Concordia β€” the meeting point of glaciers ringed by four 8,000-metre giants, including K2, the world’s second-highest mountain.

This is a serious, full-service expedition with an experienced mountain crew, cook and porters. A high level of fitness and prior trekking experience are required; acclimatisation days are built in.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Fly or drive to Skardu (2 days by road). Expedition briefing and gear check.

Long jeep ride to Askole (3,000m), the last village before the wilderness.

First trekking day along the Braldu river to the Jhola campsite.

Trek to Paiju (3,450m) at the snout of the Baltoro glacier, beneath Paiju Peak.

A rest and acclimatisation day to prepare for the glacier ahead.

Step onto the Baltoro glacier with first views of the Trango Towers and Cathedral.

Climb to the grassy ledges of Urdukas (4,050m) with sweeping glacier views.

A full glacier day to Goro II, surrounded by Masherbrum and Gasherbrum IV.

Arrive at Concordia (4,600m) β€” the unforgettable amphitheatre of giants, with K2 in full view.

Day excursion to K2 Base Camp and the Gilkey Memorial, returning via Broad Peak base camp.

Reserve day for weather, photography and soaking in the scenery.

Begin the return trek back down the Baltoro.

Continue descending with one last look at the high peaks.

Off the glacier and back to the greenery of Paiju.

Trek back along the Braldu toward Askole.

Final trek to Askole and jeep back to Skardu. Celebration dinner.

Buffer day for weather and rest in Skardu.

Fly or drive back to Islamabad. Expedition ends.
